Foreigners are to get better Web access
[Category: news] March 18, 2009 7:40 PMKorea is digitally reaching out to foreigners here and globally with the Korea Communications Commission’s Friendly Digital Korea project, which the organization announced yesterday.
The project mainly aims to make it easier for non-Koreans to join Korean Web sites. It's difficult for foreigners to sign up to local sites or online communities, as very few accept alien registration numbers in the sign-up process.
Foreigners will be able to subscribe to local online portals simply by typing in their alien registration number. The commission has asked portals and Web site firms to simplify subscription procedures for foreigners in the near future.
